Alicia DiGiammarino has over 10 years of experience in health professions education, with expertise in program design, evaluation, and faculty development. She is passionate about building inclusive, evidence-based learning environments that prepare healthcare professionals to meet evolving challenges.

Most recently, Alicia served as Associate Director for Evaluation and Scholarship at the Stanford University School of Medicine’s Teaching and Mentoring Academy. In this role, she administered the Innovation Grants Program, elevating institutional research capacity in medical education, and engineered multifaceted evaluation designs that integrated surveys, qualitative inquiries, and longitudinal tracking. Her efforts produced actionable evidence that informed leadership decisions and strengthened faculty development initiatives.

Earlier in her career, Alicia managed education programs at Stanford Medicine, where she oversaw the Year 2 Practice of Medicine course, co-led a cross-functional study of generative AI in medical education (published in JAMA Internal Medicine), and piloted clerkship-preparation curricula. Prior to Stanford, she worked at the UCSF Center for Excellence in Primary Care as a health coach and trainer, where she designed health coaching curricula and collaborated on statewide training for thousands of COVID-19 contact tracers and vaccine outreach specialists.

Alicia has published in peer-reviewed journals on topics including clinical reasoning, interpreter use in medical training, and trauma-informed health coaching. She believes strongly in disseminating her work to contribute to the evidence base in health professions education and regularly presents and facilitates at national conferences.

She holds a Master of Science in Behavioral Health from the University of San Francisco and is currently pursuing a Master of Health Professions Education at the University of Illinois Chicago. Alicia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Medical Anthropology, with minors in Public Health and Spanish, from Washington University in St. Louis.
